The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) Recycling Awards
recognize outstanding paper recycling efforts. In 2010 AF&PA will
recognize a business, a community, and a school.
AF&PA Recycling Award winners will receive a $2,000 cash prize and framed original artwork. In addition, winners are featured in national and local media outlets and on the paperrecycles.org website. Information for the 2011 AF&PA Recycling Awards will be available in early December.
The AF&PA Recycling Awards are part of the industry’s efforts to increase paper recovery. Thanks to the dedication of millions of Americans who recycle every day, a record-high 57.4 percent of the paper consumed in the U.S. was recovered for recycling in 2008. While this is a significant achievement, the industry has set a new goal to recover 60 percent by 2012.
